Carvico produces high-performance swimwear fabrics using regenerated and recycled fibres, giving new life to materials that would otherwise become waste. The result is a fabric that feels luxuriously soft on the skin while significantly reducing environmental impact.
Our Carvico fabric is:
Kind to the planet without compromising performance. By choosing Carvico, we’re choosing quality over excess, longevity over fast fashion, and responsibility over shortcuts. It’s part of our promise to create swimwear that feels good to wear and even better to stand behind.
ECONYL® is a regenerated nylon created by Aquafil, using waste that would otherwise pollute our planet.
Instead of creating new nylon from oil, ECONYL® starts with existing waste materials, including:
These materials are collected and taken through a regeneration process that breaks them down to their original chemical building blocks. This process removes impurities and allows the nylon to be rebuilt from scratch, resulting in a brand-new fibre without the need for new fossil fuels.
The regenerated nylon is then spun into high-quality yarn that performs exactly like traditional nylon, but with a significantly lower environmental impact.
REPREVE® is a high-performance recycled fibre created by Unifi, made from post-consumer plastic waste, most commonly plastic bottles.
Instead of ending up in landfill or the ocean, these bottles are:
The result is a durable, lightweight fibre that performs just like traditional polyester but with a much lower environmental footprint.
At Second Tide, choosing REPREVE® is one of the ways we reduce our impact while creating swimwear designed to move with you in and out of the water.
ECONYL® proves that waste can be transformed into something beautiful without compromising on feel, fit or function.
REPREVE® proves that everyday waste can be transformed into something purposeful, without sacrificing comfort or performance
